Allen Organ with Hector Olivera at Allentown Symphony Orchestra concert - Miller Symphony Hall

This past Saturday and Sunday the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestra Diane Wittry, presented two unique concerts at Allentown's Miller Symphony Hall. Three works for organ played by Maestro Hector Olivera, put the magnificent Allen digital organ to the test - not an easy feat when up against a symphony Orchestra!

Organ works performed included Saint-Saëns’ Symphony No. 3 (the organ symphony), the world premiere of Concertino for Organ and Orchestra (by Eric Ewazen), and The Coronation March - Meyerbeer (from Le Prophets).

The 66-stop, 3-manual Allen organ spoke into the hall with true pipe-like realism through an ample array of 28-speakers. Under Hectors's masterful playing the organ performed from a role of subtle support to full organ, shaking the building - quite noticeably in the Meyerbeer and the Saint-Saëns’

New Allen Organ for the Miraculous Medal Shrine, Philadelphia PA

89-stop custom Allen Organ in the Shrine of the miraculous Medal. This spectacular instrument features stops (pipe voices) that were sampled, or digitally recorded from some of the world's most famous organs. Some sounds are taken directly from some very notable organs right here in the Delaware Valley. Once you hear the 'floating' String Division and many of the divisional choruses, you will immediately know from where they came. A very respected organist recently stated that this organ has to be one of the best sounding and satisfying organs in the Philadelphia area that he's has ever played - winded or otherwise!

A NEW ALLEN ORGAN FOR MOTHER OF DIVINE PROVIDENCE

We are currently on the process of installing a new 58-stop Allen Organ in Mother of Divine Providence, King of Prussia PA. This wonderful instrument designed by Mr. Rudolph Lucente, is the result of years of experience playing organs for Catholic and Protestant worship. This is a service instrument with all the bells and whistles any organist could ask for in a three-manual organ. The main organ will speak from the front while an independent solo Trumpet will come from the rear.

Stay tuned for more information on the progress of this organ as well as an upcoming dedication concert.
